Percussion Recommendations

Percussion instruments can be membranophone (with a membrane, such as drum) or idiophone (without membranes, for example the bell).

Some percussion instruments have a defined tone (eardrum), others have a diffuse tone  (drum). Instruments with a defined tone are granted by membrane tension (for membranophone) or by the shape and size of the object hit (for idiophone). Instruments with diffuse tone are mainly used in rhythmic purposes.

Unlike string or wind instruments, which are one-dimensional swing, at percussion instruments the vibration is a one of a surface or of volume. For this reason, for instruments with a defined tone, harmonics produced for each sound frequencies are not multiples of the fundamental frequency.

Why you should choose percussion lessons?

Percussion lessons, like all music lessons, are an efficient way for relieving stress, relaxing and energizing.
